Import Conversations
Bring local AI tool history and browser-captured conversations into the vault.
Use Collect to scan supported AI tools, import existing conversations, and start watchers for future changes.
Supported Sources
The latest desktop source defines import and source IDs for:
| Source | Import path |
|---|---|
| Claude Code | Local transcript import and watcher |
| Claude Desktop | Desktop/web captured source |
| ChatGPT | Browser extension and MCP-related workflows |
| Codex | Local CLI import and MCP installer |
| Gemini | Local CLI import and MCP installer |
| Antigravity | Local CLI import and MCP installer |
| Cursor | Local database import and watcher |
| Cline | VS Code extension history import and watcher |
| Windsurf | Local import support where available |
| OpenCode | Local CLI import and MCP installer |
Machine Tab
The On machine tab is for local CLIs and desktop tools. Use Rescan after installing a new tool. Use Import All for a one-time import across every detected importable source.
Rows can show detected status, conversation counts, import progress, and a watcher toggle when the source supports live watching.
Browser Extension Tab
ChatGPT and Claude web sessions flow through the companion browser extension. The app exposes local bridge information, and the extension sends completed conversations into the local HTTP receiver with a bearer token.
Other Tab
Use this tab for manual and catch-all import flows as they are added. Keep source labels accurate so later filtering, topics, and MCP search results stay explainable.
Free Tier Limit
The Free plan allows 2,000 entries and 50 topics. If an import or watcher hits the entry cap, the desktop app shows an import-limit dialog instead of silently dropping new conversations.
