Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 18, 2026
1AIVault is built around a simple principle: your AI memory belongs on your machine unless you choose otherwise.
Overview
1AIVault is a desktop application built by StoicSoft. It imports, classifies, and connects AI conversations in a local vault that you control.
This policy explains what stays local, what may be sent to third parties when you opt in or make a purchase, and how to contact us with privacy questions.
Desktop app data
- Vault content stays local. Conversation imports, entries, topics, skills, search data, and MCP memory reads are stored on your computer, including the local SQLite vault at
~/.1aivault/. - Local AI is local by default. Topic classification runs through your configured local Ollama setup unless you deliberately point 1AIVault at another service.
- Cross-device transfer is explicit. When you export or move a vault between devices, 1AIVault creates a passphrase-encrypted bundle that you choose where to send or store.
- MCP logs are controlled by you. Privacy settings let you choose whether 1AIVault records redacted MCP call arguments for the Memory Reads view.
Analytics and diagnostics
- Desktop analytics are opt-in. If enabled, 1AIVault sends anonymous feature-usage events through Aptabase, such as app version, OS, and bucketed usage counts.
- Sensitive content is not sent. Analytics do not include vault content, entry titles, tags, topic names, skill bodies, search queries, passphrases, license keys, file paths, or file contents.
- Crash reports are opt-in. When enabled, crash reports are intended to include stack traces with vault content scrubbed.
- This website uses Google Analytics. We use it to understand aggregate website traffic and improve the site. Your browser settings and extensions may limit this tracking.
Purchases, licenses, and support
- Payments are handled by Lemon Squeezy. If you buy a Pro or team license, Lemon Squeezy processes checkout, tax, receipts, and payment-related information under its own privacy policy.
- License activation requires validation. The app may validate your license key, license email, device limit, activation status, and update eligibility with the licensing provider.
- Support email is voluntary. If you email us, we receive the contact information and details you choose to include so we can respond.
What we do not do
- We do not sell your vault data.
- We do not use your vault content to train AI models.
- We do not upload your imported conversations to StoicSoft servers as part of the core desktop app.
- We do not require a cloud account for the local vault experience.
Changes
We may update this policy as 1AIVault changes. Material updates will be reflected on this page with a new last-updated date.
