Opt-in, never opt-out
Analytics and crash reporting stay off until you turn them on, and even then they exclude vault content, queries, keys, and paths.
Telemetry, capture, and retention are choices you make, not defaults you inherit.
Privacy controls put the parts of 1AIVault that could touch your data under your explicit command. Anonymous analytics and crash reports are opt-in, and by design they must never carry vault content, titles, tags, skill bodies, search queries, license keys, paths, or file contents. If you leave them off, the app simply does not phone home about how you work.
Two finer controls sit alongside them. MCP argument capture decides whether the arguments passed by connected AI clients are recorded, and Memory Reads retention sets how long that access log is kept before it ages out. Together they let you trade diagnostic detail for privacy on your own terms, so a local-first vault stays local in practice, not just in name.

MCP argument capture is a toggle, so you decide whether the details of connected-client calls are stored at all.
Memory Reads retention lets you keep the access log as long or as briefly as you want before entries age out.
Open Settings → Privacy.
Enable or disable anonymous analytics and crash reports.
Toggle MCP argument capture to control what client calls record.
Choose a Memory Reads retention window that fits your comfort level.
Only if you opt in. Analytics and crash reports are off by default and, when enabled, never include vault content, titles, tags, search queries, license keys, or file paths.
As long as you choose. Memory Reads retention is a privacy setting that controls how long the MCP access log is stored before older entries age out.
Settings are split into General, Data, License, Privacy, and About so operational controls stay predictable.
